Easiest shoot ever! These two had fun just walking around window shopping downtown, one Sunday morning in Monticello. They were in good spirits and they played along with just moseying around, trying out all of the benches and swings, and peeking in windows. Lovin' the blue and white on Red. One thing I have learned about shooting babies under the age of one year is that it is all about timing! This little guy was sober and relaxed during his 5-month photo session. He got a little sleepy toward the end of the session, so we took advantage and captured the moment. Afterall, the best part about being a baby is the ability to take naps whenever you please. :o)

Crawler in Streator

Often I make visits to my hometown, Streator, Illinois to visit family and sometimes I am able to fit in a couple of photo sessions throughout my trip. It was hot and humid the weekend of the Fourth of July and Mr. "B" did well considering the sticky midwest weather! He makes the cutest of faces and I love the crawling stage, as it only lasts a couple months and those days are gone forever... Our babies grow up so quickly, it is so great to capture those precious milestones while they last.

A good way to preserve memories at a family gathering is to photgraph it. The "H" Family and I took a little detour and hit our local train station for some pictures of the kiddos as well. I love how each girl had their own personality, but how they all still got along so well. Oh what fun it is to see relationships between people, and how a family grows year-to-year!

Cousins

Cousins are cousins forever. This family was loads of fun! We had a great time out at Allerton Park in Monticello, Il. We walked around to see all of the art, sculptures, and amazing landscaping. The kids had so much fun interacting with eachother. It was just like a family playdate in the park. We ate apples, watched fish in the pond and ran through the green grass. There were so many great photographs during this session, there is no room to post them all!

Finally, caught up with my blog...just in time to get behind again with all of the spring sessions! I will be in Streator on April 23rd and have availability for a couple of morning sessions. Baby Love in a Pink Dress

I absolutely adored these two. There is something about a couple who is expecting. These two had "the glow"...both of them. The way he looked at her in some of these shots makes my heart melt! I could just tell that they have a relationship that is special. They enjoy one another. What a lucky baby this little girl is going to be. Such darling parents they will make. I can't wait to meet Baby Girl "M"!

This one made a statement as we were able to incorporate a piece of decor from the client's home into our shoot. A nice little *touch* of home and comfort. Mr. B looks just like his Daddy. ...to be busy!! I have been swamped with sessions and photo orders, etc... in the last month. I am finally catching a breath and am able to tap into my website and blog once again. So sorry to those that like to follow along and who are not on Facebook! The winter holidays are here and so is the chaos! Gotta love it :O). Anyway, I will be working on updating my sessions here now that things have slowed down for me. I plan to come up with some Valentine and Easter mini-specials and ideas while it is too c-o-l-d and snowy to shoot outdoors! :o)

Love these two! At twenty seven weeks, Mommy is lookin' good :o). It was a late afternoon/early evening session in the fall so we were losing light at every moment. Just barely captured the trees with some leaves on them. I can't wait for "Baby Eli" to arrive!

This session was fun. Little Missy was all stylin' in her cheetah hair bow and cutsie fall boots. She and her Daddy were adorable together, I had to catch those cute moments between the two of them! I was excited at the chance to photograph three brothers together. It was fun to see how they looked so much the same, but their personalities so different...and how that was portrayed in their photographs. Love the pic by the wagon, looks like they are posing for a cover of their first album...hey, you never know?

Love this artful session! Of course, I am all for anything that is not the norm! We started off at the local park, but it just didn't fit for these tried and true-boys. They were all casual'ed out with their colorful and comfy shirts. They fit right in with the scenery at the car mural in Streator. Still curious if little Mr. J* has any teeth behind that closed-mouth smile :oP.

This family has all of their sports teams covered. They showed up, comfortable ready for their Saturday afternoon pictures. E and G were little cuties, wanting to hang out by the lake and see the fish. Loved the red covered bridge and we had fun with Mom and Dad playing with the window. Chocolate and Pink

Everytime I am outdoors on a walk, I am always looking for places that would make great photographs. Cool chipped paint, old barns, and great scenery. It is funny that you can walk past a point of beauty so many times and not even realize it. (Of course, it was even nicer that these clients happened to be my family, so they trust my judgement when I lead them to the most ulikely of locations for pictures ;o) Gotta love "V"'s bloomers blowing in the wind and that scrunched up smile! The rustic gates and deep chocolate and pinks of the family's attire that just make these pictures rich and purely fall...the best time of year!

Three Kiddos in Streator

Another shoot in Streator while I was in town! The littlest guy was so cute but couldn't be put down by Mom without crying that day. I would have loved to get the three of them altogether in a photo, but you can't win them all, I guess! I was able to capture a few of them separately. We were at a local golf course in Streator, IL and happened to run across a yellow beetle just randomly parked in the grass. Miss *A* was in love... A great fall shoot with warm colors. My first "Holiday Card Photo Session" went great, considering it was almost 80 degrees outside! You can hardly tell it was still summer out there :o). We found a great blue set of doors to compliment their turquoise attire and a great set of red wooden stairs on a whim. I am loving the urban/casual shots for fall. I absolutely adore the last picture of Mom and her girls. It totally encompasses the importance and the role she plays in the family. What a moment to capture :o). I love my job!!

Sister-Sister in Monticello

After this session, I think I have found my favorite age...9! Big sister was so great, such an awesome helper rounding up her little sis, and she was ALL about my camera, which totally made my job easy! Little *Miss T* is the same age as my Elle and I see the spark in her just the same! She was such a sassy little thing, but that sweet and innocent side was captured the day of the shoot. Big sister was so tolerant with her mini-me, it is amazing how kids change in only a matter of time. These two were loads of fun and personality-packed!

Two Little Toe Heads

Engagement on Campus

These two met at the University of Illinois, so how fitting it was that we take their engagement photos on campus. The day of the shoot was freshman orientation and we were in the Quad, so J&L were patient while we had many new students passing by. These two lovebirds were sweet and a perfect pair :o).

Teeny Tiny Baby Blue

This little guy made an early entrance into the world and he was so teeny! I had an easy time photographing him, he was just so precious. He reminded me of how BIG my girls have gotten and, how fast they grow! I could have just cuddled him up :o). He did really well considering the day of his shoot it was 90 degrees outside! Miss M - Senior Session

I had such a great time with this girl and her family! She was in town visiting, so the whole crew came for some fun. She was so photogenic and fun to work with! We walked around Streator and I think we were all surprised to find lots of nooks and crannies around town to use for great backdrops. Even the local theatre provided some fun shots as well :o). Monticello Family - TWO under two!

I don't know how this Mom does it! With two kids so young she is always on the move and so was I that day! We headed over to Lake in the Woods in Mahomet, Il where the flowers and greens were plentiful. The kids were in great spirits, however catching a child under the age of two...not to mention TWO of them was quite a challenge! Even so, I think I was able to capture some good expressions of intrigue and fun!

Brotherly Love

I love these two little guys. They always brighten my day when I see them, as they are our neighbors and friends. They were good sports on the day of their shoot, walking about downtown Monticello. Her parents are such a beautiful couple, I felt like I had to give little direction. They were so natural. Fairies and Ice Cream

This was my first "real" photo session since rolling out my photography business. I was thrilled to photograph these kids, as they are some of my favorite little people! My little fairy girl worked for ice cream and little Mr. "M" was just chilling out in the streets of downtown Champaign like it was nobody's business. They are so easy-going and cute. I was totally digging Mr. M's hat on that bucket.

Family of Five - Urbana, Il

This family was so great to work with. I felt like I fit right in! Each child's personality was so different and so great in their own way, and their daughter is absolutely eye-candy for a photographer. So photogenic! This family pulled out all of the fun gear...guitars, hats and even a motorcycle. Their relaxed demeanor is one I can absolutely appreciate! A few of my session favorites...there were SO many it was hard to decide...
